Our specimen packaging range is suitable for containing Category B biological substances (UN3373) during transportation. Materials classified as category B can range from blood samples to swabs or tissue samples.

Postal Pack

Includes outer box, pre-printed UN3373 label, 95kpa BioBag-751, absorbent cushioning pouch, tamper-evident seal and a pre-printed QR code taking you straight to assembly information.

Bioshipper Kits

  • Bioshipper‑1 is our mid-size kit, which includes an outer box, a BioBag-751, absorbent cushioning pouch, tamper-evident seal, a pre-printed UN3373 label and a QR code taking you straight to assembly information. It is capable of carrying up to 4 x BioBag-751s.
  • Bioshipper‑2 is our larger kit that supports our largest BioBag-752 which can accommodate cryovial boxes or multiple single receptacles Kit includes: outer box, BioBag-752, 2x absorbent cushioning pouch a tamper-evident seal, a pre-printed UN3373 label and QR code taking you straight to assembly information.

Biotransporter Temperature Control Packaging

  • Biotransporter 1: Temperature Controlled Infectious Substance Packaging. Corrugated plastic outer case with EPE polystyrene foam liner insulation; designed for up to 5 kg dry ice (30–40 h protection) and suitable for both Category A and B substances when used with our appropriate secondary packaging Biotubes 330.
  • Biotransporter 2: Temperature controlled packaging. White plastic outer case with EPE polystyrene foam liner; holds 1.5 L Biojar, up to 7 kg dry ice, up to 130 h insulation.  It is suitable for both Category A and B substances and supplied as a complete combination packaging, including: 1 x 1.5L Biojar (Code 490).

Thermal Control Units

  • TC‑100: Large capacity thermal control over-pack.
  • TC‑565: Compact unit; maintains ≤ –20 °C with dry ice .
  • TC‑650: Mid-size unit;, carries ~4 kg dry ice, maintains ≤ –20 °C.

Specimen Bags

  • BioBag‑751 (95 kPa Specimen Bag): Engineered to withstand 95 kPa, ideal for primary receptacles containing Category B specimens.
  • BioBag-752 (95 kPa Specimen Bag): Our larger BioBag is engineered to withstand 95 kPa and can carry cryovial boxes or a multitude of single primary containers.

Specimen Shipping Boxes – FAQs

UN3373 is a UN number given to a Biological Substance (Category B). Substances covered under this include blood, tissue, swabs, urine, stools, and any other diagnostic samples that may be infectious but do not pose a threat to life or permanent disability. Anything that is determined to be of this type of risk is put under Category A UN2814 (Human) or UN2900 (Animal).

Yes. UN3373 Category B items must be shipped using triple packaging (primary receptacles, secondary packaging and rigid outer packaging).
