What Are 95kPa Biohazard Bags?
95kPa biohazard bags are designed to safely transport biological substances. The 95kPa rating refers to the ability to withstand pressure of 95kPa without leakage.
95kpa bags are primarily used for the shipment of clinical trials or UN3373 substances, which can include:
- Clinical trial materials
- Pharmaceuticals
- Insuline
- Biological samples
- Tissue specimens
- Swabs and diagnostic samples
- Covid 19 samples
Compliant 95kPa Bags
Our 95kPa bags are suitable for sending UN3373 samples under packing instruction 650 (PI 650) and meet the requirements of ADR, IATA, and IMDG. Used as part of a triple packaging system, our 95kPa biohazard specimen bags provide a secure secondary packaging layer between primary receptacles and outer packaging.

Triple Packaging for UN3373 Compliance
To meet transport regulations, UN3373 biological samples will need to use triple packaging solutions:.
Primary Receptacle
A leak-proof container for liquids and sift-proof for solids for holding the specimen.
Secondary Packaging
Must be leak-proof packaging for liquids and sift-proof for solids. For liquid substances, primary receptacles or the secondary packaging must withstand an internal pressure of 95 kPa (0.95 bar) without leakage.
Our 95kPa bag can be used as secondary packaging, which provides leakproof and siftproof containment up to 95kPa.
Outer Packaging
An outer box capable of a 1.2m drop test that protects the contents during handling and transit.
Absorbent material and cushioning will also be required for added protection in the event of any breakages. Customers must refer to P650 when shipping UN3373 samples for a complete set of packaging requirements, including labels and documentation.
