Mick has been an integral and valued member of our team here at Air Sea Containers, working within our warehouse and previously with our sister company, Stanifords.
He has also starred in some of our YouTube videos including our most watched video; incorrect and correct use of DG packaging, as the driver knocking a package off the back of a wagon!
After demonstrating an array of acting talent, versatility and style, Mick sadly is calling a wrap on his illustrious career.
Whilst Mick departs for a well-earned retirement he won’t be forgotten here. To round off his final day we called halt to operations and held a lunch and celebrated with one of his favoured sports, Darts.
A 9-dart top score challenge, won by Pete with a score of 158, presented in honour of Mick and to remember his legacy, The Mick Barron Top Score Trophy!
Mick will be sadly missed for his dry wit, bubbly sense of humour, fondness of anything IT related……..damn you Chat GPT! Only joking.
In fact, he was described by our founder Don Staniford, as an indispensable workhorse, more than apt given his love of horse racing!
We kept him for as long as we could (51 years!), now at the age of 70, he leaves those that have had the pleasure of working with him in no doubt of what Don meant.
It may be an end to one chapter but with the dawn of the next, we wish Mick and his family, our best wishes for a long and happy retirement.
