Staff Spotlight: Craig Moran, Warehouse Manager
As part of the company’s 45th anniversary celebrations, we’re shining a spotlight on some of the staff who help make it all happen. From sales and dispatch to warehouse operations and management, our team members share a little about their roles and their time with the company.
Craig, how long have you been with Air Sea Containers?
22 years, only came for 1 week of work and I’m still here 22 years later!
What was your first week like?
I came in as an agency worker for yard maintenance and I never left!
Do you remember the first order you packed?
Yes, it was for our code 1 which are 4G boxes and our code 3 which are our 1L heavy duty tinplate drums.
What’s technology has changed most in the warehouse over the years?
Many years ago, when we had 2 separate sites, I would have to drive to the office and collect the paperwork for the orders and then take them back to the warehouse for dispatch, then we got our first fax machine and it was a game changer, as all orders were then faxed across. Also, something else that helped speed up our processes was the purchase of the shrink-wrap machine, in the early days we had to wrap orders by hand which as time consuming.
What’s your favourite part of your Job?
I work with a great team and we have a laugh working so I enjoy it all!
Funniest Memory?
So many over the 22 years, but none I can share with you otherwise I might get in trouble!
What’s kept you here all these years?
It’s a family business and the past and present management have always treated me so well and made it a fun place to work, that’s what’s kept me here so long.
